SCM Index

📊 SCM Index is Now Available
Global Sourcing Academy & Office has launched a new “SCM Index” page on our website.
The environment surrounding procurement and supply chains in the manufacturing industry is constantly changing due to various factors, including raw material prices, foreign exchange rates, import prices, energy costs, and supply and demand conditions.
With the SCM Index, we have attempted to make changes in “cost” and “supply risk” surrounding procurement and supply chain management (SCM) easier to understand at a glance, based primarily on data from official statistics.
Our main data sources currently include:
🏦 Bank of Japan
📦 Japan Ministry of Finance – Trade Statistics
🏭 Japan Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) – various statistics and data
Rather than simply providing market information, we hope the SCM Index will serve as one useful indicator for procurement and purchasing professionals to understand “what is the current state of the procurement environment?”
We will continue to update the data and provide information that can help procurement professionals think about procurement strategy and supply chain management.
Data sources: Bank of Japan, Japan Ministry of Finance Trade Statistics, Japan Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI), and various news and media reports.
